1969 was the year of “Sesame Street’s” debut, and even for the ’60s it’s hard to believe this was kids’ programming. But excellent. (The Dark Matters peeps were late ’60s babies, so we only saw Jazzy Spies in reruns. Very memorable, though.)

In the upcoming season Vanessa (Eva Green) and Ethan (Josh Hartnett) form a deeper bond as the group, including Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), and Sembene (Danny Sapani), unite to banish the evil forces that threaten to destroy them. Meanwhile, Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), the Creature (Rory Kinnear), and Brona (Billie Piper) are all waging battles of their own.

If you haven’t already, please do yourself a favor and watch this Italian-Brazilian master of horror’s best known film. “Suspiria” is pretty mind-blowing. (i.e. great and weird.)
Interesting facts:
* Argento collaborated with George A. Romero on “Dawn of the Dead.”
* Argento’s 1996 film “The Stendhal Syndrome” was the first Italian film to use CGI.
* He directed an episode called “Jenifer” on Showtime’s Masters of Horror.
* Argento has contributed to the development of the survival horror video game Dead Space, and also in the dubbing of the character “Dr. Kyne” in the game’s Italian version.
* Daughter Asia Argento is an actress and director.
