#POCtober: The Sixth Sense (1999)

Director: M Night Shyamalan
The definition of an instant classic, this smart, beautifully shot and acted film catapulted M Night Shyamalan into revered company alongside the likes of Hitchcock and Serling. The director’s subsequent efforts have been much less accessible or simply lacked the psychological daring and warmth of this 1999 endeavor.

Despite being a victim of his own success, Shyamalan has persevered. Now that this award-winning writer/director has shifted to the smaller screen perhaps TV can present him with a new challenge to re-awaken his mojo. Shyamalan currently has series in development with SyFy, NBC and FOX.
