I read this the year it came out and recommend! For one thing, King did a great job keeping the Dick Hallorann character (played by Scatman Crothers in the film version of “The Shining”) central to the plot. Hoping the movie will be as good as the book. Maybe? – Erica

It’s on my very large tbr. I really must dig it out. I heard that I should have read either the shining or the stand first. I read both some time ago. Would a rereading of the shining help or can I just go ahead and read Dr. Sleep
